Glen moray chardonnay finish single malt whiskey.
Nose: a warm, oily and very buttery fruitiness. Apples and grapefruits, hints of melon and honey. Lemon cream and oranges. Hints of sawdust in the background. The white wine is easily noticeable, it’s okay but it took some time for me to appreciate it. Mouth: weirder now. It’s soft, with a sweet onset but then a growing sourness and just a plain winey side which is overpowering. Hints of fizzy grape juice and cheap sparkling wine. Lemon marmalade and grassy green tea. Gentle spices, a little caramel and oaky dryness. Finish: a bit weak, evolves towards butterscotch, cinnamon and dry, toasted oak.
